Description
Nexium Control is an effective treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and other heartburn conditions. Nexium controls the acid secretion of normal stomach acid production by blocking acid production in the acidic environment of the stomach. Nexium Control works by reducing proton pumps in the stomach and esophagus, ultimately improving acid control in the body.
Prescription
Nexium Control is a prescription medication. Required Indications
Elderly patients with symptoms of heartburn or acid reflux may use Nexium Control to control symptoms in their hearts and joints.
Dosage and Administration
Nexium Control is available in tablet form in two strengths: 20 mg and 40 mg. Tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. The dosage is based on your age and response to treatment. Dosage may change occasionally. Adults and Children 12 and older: Take no more than one dose within 24 hours of each other. Older adults: Take Nexium Control in the same amount as in your child's normal dosage. For children under 12 years, the dose may be taken twice daily to treat symptoms of heartburn or acid reflux. The 40 mg dose should be taken at the same time daily.
Warnings
Do not take Nexium Control if you are allergic to esomeprazole or any of the ingredients in Nexium Control.
Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, food or exercise intolerance, slow or irregular liver may make you more sensitive to the side effects of Nexium Control may increase your heartburn.
Do not take this medication if you also take lansoprazole or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
